Impower yourself every day

Today, my day is going to be a great day!

We all have good and bad days. But have you ever thought about what makes it a good or bad day for you? A typically bad day might mean you overslept, meaning you had to rush in the morning or even arrive late to an important class or meeting.

You’re running as fast as you can to the subway, bus or train just to find that today of all days, it actually left on time, meaning you just missed it. Or sitting in the car, bumper to bumper trying to speed up the traffic, seeing all the traffic lights switch to red. Or maybe you’re on your bike to school or work, only to find after a short while that one of the tires has a flat. Today of all days!

It can be one of those mornings where you unconsciously tell yourself that ”this is not my day!” A day where you’ll cling to everything making this statement true. Maybe there’s a line at the store that you just don’t have time for today, or why not the disagreeable cashier who barely speaks to you or gives you the help you, as a customer, are entitled to. It could be a person screaming there whole life to their mobile phone on the train home, or an unbelievingly slow car driver, or.... Well, the list can go on and on and continue into your home where it’s often spread out into a general disharmony.

A good day can look the same, only completely opposite. A day where you’re almost invincible, where all these events, that on a bad day would drive you up the wall, simply washes off. You might sit down quietly and wait for your turn at the store, thinking that the cashier surely has a reason for his/her behavior and politely ask for help one more time, or think that the driver in front of must not have anywhere he needs to be right now.

The fun thing is that it’s often the same everyday events that trigger different emotions in you, depending on your current state of mind. The answer to the seemingly prosaic question I started with is: You!

It’s you who define if today is a good or bad day. Isn’t that great? Or at least nice to know that you don’t have to be controlled by outer influences. Or maybe it’s easier to pretend to be controlled by everything happening around you. But still, isn’t it a lot better to feel happy and invincible today, than like a raging bull with a short fuse?

Yes, let’s erase all the bad days from the calendar and think: Today, my day is going to be a great day...

This is the first day of your new life... Cherish it as if it were solid gold!
